The rent a car industry was founded shortly after the first series production line of cars. We mention the famous '20s model Ford T that was to become the first car rented in history. Car rental market is an important economic sector generating global turnover of billions of dollars. Car rental pioneer, John Hertz and Avis Warren have developed this industry, the companies they founded are among the most famous multinational in the field. As a statistical fact, this segment of economic activity is present in over 190 countries, with thousands rental points which can hardly be quantified, generating, as I said, billions of dollars.
In Romania, rent a car services experienced a sharp expansion after 1989, reaching in no time to provide the same range of services as the companies abroad. In Romania are present both local rent a car companies, and multinational rent a car companies at European or global level. The Romanians used increasingly over this service, especially business people or people who want to travel and have problems with their car or do not want to use common means of transportation, preferring to have a greater degree of privacy.
If you have not yet used the services of car rental companies we will make you some suggestions about choosing the provider and the rented car.
But first to mention a few rights: you, the user, need to be at least 21 years and older with a valid license for at least 12 months. You are not allowed to travel with rented car outside the country only with the written approval of the rent a car company owning the car, and if you want that other persons to drive this car, they must be present at time of contract signing and also respecting those regulations which I've mentioned before.
In Romania you will find car rental from any car manufacturer or class. If you are a businessman looking for an urgent internal displacement and during displacement you still have to work on a presentation or to prepare an important speech at the meeting, you can get a limo business type such as Mercedes S Class, Audi A6 or BMW 7 series and also enjoy all the services of a professional driver offered by the company supplying. Costs would be indeed some what higher compared to the situation in which you conduct yourself, but think of the enormous advantages: fast and safe shipping, enjoy the quality and comfort offered by extremely relaxing backseats of these limos and have enough space to prepare for the meeting to be held.
If for example you have a large family or want to take on a vacation with a friend’s family, coworker or relative, but the car you own is not sufficient for a large number of passengers you can choose a van type vehicle, such as the Mercedes Vito. It is an ideal car for long trips with a large group of people. You may save time, save money and have the privacy of the group, which you wouldn’t get to have if you choose other means of transportation.
